What makes a blog so intriguing?

Today is all about blogging!

There are plenty of questions about customizing your blog to make it look good with this and that.
I’m going to give you some guidelines for color schemes, fonts, and tricks.
First of all, you need to start with a template. It doesn’t matter what color it is or what kind of background it is. You know why? Because, you can change all of that with simply going into >Design>Template. It’ll look like this:
Your goal is to choose something that fits you or what you like: simple or complex.

Moving on to the next task: your background. You may or may not like the predesigned blog photos. On the sidebar, there is a background link which sound look like this:
To change your background, click on the drop down buttom. You may align the image however you wish in the alignment settings. Feel free to mess around with the tiling settings. On the right, a set of color schemes are shown. If you want to use them, that’s fine. And if not, you may choose your own colors in the Advanced tab as shown under “main color theme.” It looks like this:
The Advanced setting is where you make your blog the way you want by trial and error. To do so, go to Posts and put up a testing blog to see the fonts and colors.
Colors. What is so important about them? Every single color in the color wheel has its own complementary match. I have Googled color schemes and found the perfect website for you bloggers out there!  Click here: The Perfect Palatte It should look like this:

To look for the complementary colors, simply click on the color. The page will direct you to a new page with a set of colors that look good together. How easy is that? For those of you who know more about codes, this website will allow you to get the exact color you want. Click here: Color Scheme Design
You pick a color, and hover over the shade on top for the code. You paste that code into the Text Color box in the Advance tab.
Onto the next topic. Fonts: normal or fancy.
You may choose fonts that look “cool,” but that’s a problem. Is it legible enough for your readers to read?

Blogger has certain fonts into their system. By conducting some research, I found out that there are four safe family fonts are serif, sans serif, fantasy or cursive, and monospace commonly used on blogs.

If you choose to use a “fancy” font, make sure it’s big enough so your reader won’t have a problem. If you want a different font, you’d have to go into HTML coding. If you want it on a certain post, you’d simply have to change the name.

A typical code would be {font-family: "name of font", serif;}. That’s for fonts already in the system. For a font out of the system, you’d have to get a custom code. If you use Google Web Fonts,  you click on any text, write what you want, and get the code for it. But before you do anything, make sure you save a copy of your blog just in case it has a glitch.
Click Design>Template>Edit HTML>Proceed>Select All>Copy>Open a document>Paste>Save.

Now, you can start messing around with custom font codes.

That’s all I have for now. Thanks for reading and comment below for any further questions. I’d be glad to answer them in another post.
